Sesame Honey Glazed Chicken Matzo Ball Bowls


  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup matzo meal
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup baby bok choy, chopped
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced
  • Sesame seeds for garnish


  1. In a bowl, mix matzo meal, eggs, and a pinch of salt. Form into small balls and set aside.
  2. In a large pot, combine chicken broth, sesame oil, soy sauce, honey, garlic, and ginger. Bring to a simmer.
  3. Gently drop the matzo balls into the simmering broth. Cover and cook for about 20 minutes until they float to the surface.
  4. In a separate pan, stir-fry chicken until browned and cooked through.
  5. Add bok choy to the broth and simmer until wilted.
  6. Serve the sesame honey glazed chicken over the matzo ball and broth mixture.
  7. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
